CLEC People - February 16, 2001Wayne KawamotoManaging Editor, CLEC-Planet Elastic Networks announced that Anne Jarvis, formerly of CLEC e.Spire, has joined the organization as vice president of marketing. The addition of Mrs. Jarvis is part of Elastic Networks' ongoing investment in personnel to support the company's continued growth. Mrs. Jarvis also has an extensive sales and marketing background with MCI, where she served as director of carrier southeast sales, director special markets marketing and support, and branch manager of carrier sales for the southeast. A graduate of the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Mrs. Jarvis holds a bachelors degree in business. Broadview Networks announced that Dr. John D. Crowley has been appointed chief information officer (CIO). A 30-year software-industry veteran, Dr. Crowley designed the company's unique operational support system, which underpins its competitive advantage. Dr. Crowley, 56, of Westport, Conn., co-founded and has served since 1997 as vice president and chief technical officer of Open Support Systems, a Broadview Networks subsidiary responsible for development and enhancement of the proprietary OPENnet operational support system. Dr. Crowley succeeds Colm D. Kelly, 62, of Stamford, Conn., who is retiring. Dr. Crowley has served as an associate professor of computer science at Fairfield University. Network Access Solutions (NAS) announced that Mark E. Scott has been appointed chief financial officer. In his new post, Mr. Scott will be responsible for NAS' finance, accounting and investor relations functions. Prior to joining NAS, Mr. Scott was vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Teltronics, a Sarasota, Florida- based manufacturer of telephone switching systems and software for businesses, government and 911 safety communications centers. During his four-year tenure at Teltronics, he contributed to improved profitability, negotiated new debt and equity investments, and supported several acquisitions and divestitures. Before joining Teltronics in 1997, he held senior financial management positions at several international telecommunications and consumer products companies including PROTEL and RHM Holdings. Mr. Scott received his B.A. in Accounting from the University of Washington in 1976, and has received CPA certification from the American Institute of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs. Mr. Scott replaces Scott Yancey, who is leaving NAS to pursue other interests. |
