Wayne Kawamoto
Managing Editor, CLEC-Planet

Time Warner Telecom Inc. (Nasdaq: TWTC) announced that Larissa Herda has been elected to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective at the company's annual meeting on June 7, 2001. Herda will also retain the position of President and CEO. Herda became President and CEO of Time Warner Telecom in June 1998. Under Herda's leadership, the company extended its market reach to 39 metropolitan service areas from 19, and Time Warner Telecom moved to the top of emerging telecom services providers. During the same time period, the company's annualized quarterly revenue increased 540% to $693 million. Since the second quarter of 1999, Time Warner Telecom has experienced eight consecutive quarters of increasing positive recurring EBITDA. The company also increased DS-0 equivalents from approximately 2.3 million to nearly 11.4 million, which is an indication of the enormous amount of data, voice and Internet services being transported by the company's expansive local and regional fiber networks.

Teligent Inc.

Jonas is chairman and chief executive of IDT Corp., a Newark, N.J.-based telephone services provider which recently had a greater than one-third stake in Teligent. Jonas, who replaced former AT&T Corp. executive Alex Mandl as chairman on April 30, also resigned as a Teligent director, Teligent said.
