Wayne Kawamoto
Managing Editor, CLEC-Planet

PaeTec Corp., a holding company whose principal subsidiary is PaeTec Communications, Inc., an integrated communications provider, announced that Brad Bono, PaeTec's Eastern and Southern Region President, was appointed to the CLEC Council of the United States Telecom Association (USTA). USTA is a leading association in the telecommunications industry, representing the interests of telecommunications service providers and serving more than 1,200 providers of local exchange, long distance, wireless, Internet, and cable telecommunications services. Bono, one of the founders of PaeTec, has served as President of PaeTec's Eastern Region since June of 1998 and as the President of the Southern Region since April 2000. For three years prior to joining PaeTec, Bono served as Vice President of Alternate Channels for ACC Telecom. Bono also co-founded Vista International Communications, Inc., a regional interexchange carrier, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 1991 until ACC Telecom's acquisition of Vista in 1997.

DSL.net, Inc. (NASDAQ NM: DSLN), nationwide, direct provider of high-speed Internet access solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses, has announced the recent election of David F. Struwas, chairman and chief executive officer, to the executive committee of the Association of Local Telecommunications Services (ALTS). A telecommunications executive with over 15 years of senior-level experience, Struwas joined DSL.net in August 1998 and was named President and Chief Executive Officer in November 1998. He was appointed Chairman in November 2000. ALTS, which fights for the preservation and growth of the local competitive marketplace, has supported recent Congressional House Judiciary Committee actions slowing down the progress of H.R.1542, the Tauzin/Dingell bill.
