Pac-West Telecomm Announces Departure of CFO [Main Story]

US LEC Corp. (Nasdaq: CLEC) announced that its president and COO, Aaron Cowell, has been appointed to the Executive Committee for ALTS (The Association for Local Telecommunications Services). "I look forward to working with ALTS to build a sound and stable regulatory environment in which US LEC and other carriers can bring the benefits of competition to more people," said Cowell. "US LEC works diligently to influence pending regulations and decisions that affect carriers and customers. I welcome the opportunity to be in a position where I can help promote regulations and decisions that will facilitate fair competition."

e.NVIZION COMMUNICATIONS GROUP LTD. (ENCG-news), an emerging integrated communications provider (ICP), announced that Michael S. Baron a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), has been appointed Director, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of its wholly-owned subsidiary e.NVIZION COMMUNICATIONS LTD. Baron will report to Randy Phillips, e.NVIZION's Chairman and CEO. Baron joins e.NVIZION COMMUNICATIONS LTD., from E-Znet Incorporated where he held the position of President and CFO. Prior to E-Znet, Baron held senior management positions at ICS Telecom where he was CFO/Controller. He was also Director of MIS and Adminstration for Celluar One. He also worked for Gateway Cable Company and served as Controller and built the finance and accounting functions into departments. Baron also served as Internal Auditor and Manager of Accounting for Metromedia Inc.

Lexent Inc. (NASDAQ: LXNT), a telecommunications solutions provider, announced the addition of Kathleen Perone to the company's Board of Directors. For her new Lexent board position, Perone draws from a wealth of telecommunications-focused experience gained throughout her years in the telecom and satellite communications industries. Perone has held various senior level positions at Level 3 Communications, WorldCom, Inc., MFS Communications and Cable and Wireless. Perone is the founding partner and Managing Director of Acappella Ventures, LLC, a venture capital firm focusing on early stage telecom and technology infrastructure companies, and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of LighTrade, Inc., Director of Focal Communications (FCOM) and Infocrossing (IFOX), and an advisory board member of Tellium, Inc. (TELM). Most recently, Ms. Perone headed Level 3 Communications' North American operations, the largest division within the company. Level 3 is a global communications and information services company offering a wide selection of services, including IP services, broadband transport, colocation services and the industry's first Softswitch based services. Lexent has worked on several projects with Level 3, including Boston's Little Big Dig.
