Power~Suite Telephony Goes to New Release

Cirilium's Infrastructure solution combines carrier-class media gateway with voice-enabled Web services. Web-based call centers are just one potential application.

by Wayne Kawamoto

Cirilium announced a new version of its Power~Suite carrier-class IP telephony solution. Version 1.1 of Power~Suite adds new capabilities to the original version 1.0, which was released in April of this year.

According to Cirilium, Power~Suite is the first infrastructure solution to combine a carrier-class media gateway with back-office, software-based components and interactive voice-enabling services.

The solution should help carriers and enterprises speed services to market and reduce costs by integrating VoIP applications.

In addition to current H.323, MGCP, and SS7 interfaces, the new version of Power~Suite integrates Japan INS1500, MFR2, Australian ISDN, China Signaling 1, and Hong Kong T-1 ISDN.

Version 1.1 also incorporates Web-based technologies such as Touch-to-Talk, Interactive Web Push and Web Phone. The Web Phone supports phone-to-Web, Web-to-phone and Web-to-Web communications. "With this new release of Power~Suite, we have incorporated several enhancements to an already strong offering—the most significant being our Web-based technologies and additional telecom interface protocols," said Paul Wallner, Cirilium chief executive officer. "Using our new product release, ISPs, Next-Gen Telcos and PTTs are able to immediately deploy these capabilities in innovative revenue generating applications. By hosting the VoIP infrastructure, ISPs create an additional, ongoing revenue stream from businesses looking to Web-enable their call centers."

"A business can Web-enable its call center by building the network itself or through an ISP or ASP that hosts the network infrastructure," said Mike Sargent, senior vice president of international sales and marketing. "Voice-enabling Web sites with Cirilium's new Web-based technologies allows businesses to bridge the customer service gap between call centers and on-line commerce,"

Pricing and availability
Power~Suite components can be installed as a total solution or individually, with pricing computed on a per-port basis. Typical pricing is approximately $550 per port, depending on the configuration.

Power~Suite 1.1 is available now.
